Update to Amazon App Store-Rotten?

I ran across this blog post by Ausie app development company shiftyjelly  entitled Amazon App Store: Rotten to the Core. My original post is here.  I also caught an interview with Shiftyjelly CEO Russell Ivanovic on All About Android at Twit. His beef with Amazon is legit and Amazon should come under pressure to change some of it's practices. I still think Amazon's App Store is a winner for consumers and developers. So long as we properly support the developers that have quality apps featured in Amazon's daily free app promotion. Quality work should be rewarded. And in case you can't get enough of this topic, first get some therapy, then go to Jonathan Lonczak's blog for a another view (which is where I got the fancy graphic at the top of the post). Always chaos, uh.  CEEKCNV2MG9C

Pixel of Ink-Free e-books.

Could this be nirvana for Kindle/Nook fans? Possibly, especially if you like to read and enjoy deals. Pixel of Ink is one of those websites that makes all the time we spend online worthwhile.  In their own words.
Pixel of Ink features daily publishing of Free & Bargain eBooks.
Here’s what you will find for both the Kindle and Nook:
  • Free eBooks – both the Limited Time Offers and often forgotten but Popular Classics
  • Bargain eBooks that are highly rated (4-stars and up) yet a bargain at under $1, under $3, or under $5
  • Kindle accessories that are an absolute steal of a deal (i.e. 50% off or more)
If you are an author they have a whole section just for you. It includes ways to submit your work to be featured on their site and links to some very useful sites and info. The site is a pleasure to use and I look forward to their emails about book deals. I have amassed quite the library thanks to their recommendations, many of the books free. Check it out.

The Mass

Amazing. The way my soul is calmed and peace enters my heart at Mass. Not like the storm goes away. The storm of life gets focused and the chaos has reason. This came about slowly over years of just attending Mass, not participating. I have realized there is an endless depth to the Mass. Every word and pause has meaning, meaning enough to satisfy the greatest intellects. There is a connection not only to my fellow parishioners, but to all Catholics, past present and future. The Mass is nearly the same in every part of the world in every language. In fact if we could travel back 2000 years and attend a Mass we would find it familiar.  One of the saints said that at every Mass we are surrounded by the heavenly host. In fact the only reason the priest can lift the consecrated host up is because he is supported by angels. These must be some of the reasons that five of the US Supreme Court Justices attend daily Mass. To my lapse Catholic friends, come back to Mass. Any differences you may have with the church will soon be reconciled. And as promised Christ's peace will abide in you.
